The Raw Food Diet and Weight Loss

The reason that the raw food diet and weight loss are associated with each other is that raw food is high in fibre and low in calories.
The carbohydrates found in fibre are complex and the sugars contained within them are slow release. This means that you will feel full quickly and less likely to snack on fatty and unhealthy snacks.
Raw foods have a higher amount of nutrients in them as these are often lost during cooking. Of course some vegetables like potatoes cannot be eaten raw. Steaming is a good way to cook foods as many more nutrients are preserved during this process.
The raw food diet is healthy as it carries toxins out of the body and keeps you regular. Toxins build up in the body from eating processed foods and even using skin creams and cosmetics.
These toxins can lead to weight gain as the body stores them in fat cells. The more toxins you have the more fat cells are required and the heavier you can become.
You should also drink at least 2 litres of water a day to help flush out the toxins from your body, this will also help to increase your metabolism.
Eating a raw food diet means an increase in antioxidants which are very beneficial to your health and this can also aid weight loss.
Antioxidants mop up free radicals which are a by product of cell metabolism and the body burning oxygen.
Get yourself a liquidiser and create some delicious and nutritious drinks from fruits and vegetables. Experiment with different fruits including mangoes. pears, apples and bananas.
