Is there a link between fast food and obesity? Fast food is usually associated with fatty and unhealthy take aways such as burgers, fries, pizzas and doughnuts.
These foods are very tasty and if you are hungry they can seem like the ideal quick fix solution. However the main drawback is that these foods usually lack vital nutrients and won’t keep you satisfied for long.
Our bodies are very smart and unless you provide it with a sufficient intake of nutrients you will continue to feel hungry.
A burger and fries will satisfy you for a short time but then you will start to feel hungry and desire more food. A lack of exercise combined with poor food choices will soon pile on the pounds.
Fast food and obesity is a major problem in the West but it’s possible to re educate eating habbits. You can reduce the craving for fast food by eating freshly prepared home cooked meals.
This doesn’t have to be a dreaded chore after a hard days work. You could easily have a tasty and nutritious meal on the table in about 20 minutes with very little effort.
Grill a salmon fillet drizzled with olive oil and garnished with a few slices of tomato for about 20 minutes depending on size.
While the salmon is cooking prepare a salad by combining a few salad leaves such as baby spinach, rocket, iceburg lettuce with slices of red onion and baby tomatoes.
Make a quick dressing with virgin olive oil, the juice of half a lemon and white balsamic vinegar.
Instead of reaching for a Krispy Kreme doughnut mid morning try a banana instead, It’s slow release carbohydrates will keep your energy levels high until lunch time.
Eating certain types of food can increase your metabolism and when combined with exercise can help you to lose weight very quickly. You could lose as much as 14lb in two weeks by making a few changes to your lifestyle
